Maintenance: Custom Lighting Installation

Project Requirement and Challenge:

Customer needed us to install 20 new custom Murano glass chandeliers.

Project Conclusion and Solution:

We were able to install all 20 fixtures in 3 days. All light fixtures were very fragile because the whole fixture was made from hand blown glass pieces from Italy. Some of the fixtures required special custom wall bracket plates. Others required us to work at heights that exceeded 18’. Most locations had to be reinforced to handle the extra weight of the fixtures.

Remodel: Lighting Installation with Lift

Project Requirement and Challenge:

The challenge was to install a new 700 pound chandelier in a new location and have it be able to be raised and lowered with a lift.

Project Conclusion and Solution:

We asked the Clifton Boys, a general contracting company, to build us a scaffolding system and set up a remote location in the attic and run the cable to a new pulley system through the ceiling joists to a bigger pulley in the center of the new chandelier location. This required lots of bracing to handle the new 700 pound chandelier location. The weight came from all of the hand blown crystal pieces. This job required two weeks of work from start to finish.

Audio & Video: Entertainment System

Project Requirements and Challenge:

The requirement and challenge was to install new flat screen TVs throughout home with a new central sound system controlled from different rooms in the home.

Project Conclusion and Solution:

This project took a week to install 6 new flat screen TVs around home with new HDMI cables and electrical to each location. With two new customer supplied speakers in 4 bedrooms with controls back to one main system to family room.

Maintenance: Main Panel Problems

Project Requirement and Challenge:

Main 200amp panel had various problems. The problem with this job was the customer noticed the lighting in the home was flickering. They went out to the main panel and realized it was smoking. They called the fire department out and they shut the main panel down.

Project Conclusion and Solution:

We arrived the next day to this melted panel. Our solution to this problem was to replace the main panel first. Then check the wires to the circuits that had caused this problem. It turned out it was just the wires for the AC unit on the side of the home. The wires had been undersized and the breaker had failed to shut off. These wires had melted back into the walls so we needed to replace all the wire for the AC unit. This job took two days.

Remodel: Custom Remodeled Home

Project Requirement and Challenge:

This project was a complete remodel of a custom home in Newport Beach, CA. The remodel called for all new lighting for art work that would be displayed around the home, custom light fixtures, wine cabinet, and complete home automation system.

Project Solution:

This was accomplished by working directly with the home owner to decide exact locations for new art work, lighting fixtures and furniture locations for proper lighting throughout home. This also included working directly with a programmer from Lutron to set up all drapery controls and lighting to work in conjunction. With a touch of the away button the drapes close and the lights slowly dim setting up a walkway to the garage where the car is parked. When Morning comes the drapes open at a preset time and they follow the sun so no sun lights hits the paintings. This project required a total time of 8 months from start to finish.
